Introduction Tees, tops, and tanks Shirts and sweaters Bottoms Layers You've heard of a little black dress. In this part of the series, let's take a look at all the "little black" items you need in your closet. Put your big girl pants on
For maximum versatility, I recommend black leggings, black slacks (useful for business casual dress code, conservative/modest events), and a pair of black pants for dressing up. To pick out the best pant silhouettes and rises for your body type, refer to Wardrobe Essentials: Bottoms for tips.

A little black skirt and little black dress are also necessities.

Introduction Tees, tops, and tanks Shirts and sweaters Bottoms Now let's get layered.
The basic layers you need for maximum versatility include: a neutral cardigan, a jean jacket, a cropped jacket such as a moto jacket, a dark blazer, and a long jacket. If you live in cold weather, you'll likely need to add on some warmer winter pieces like a wool coat and puffer jacket as well, but the above pieces are recommended for all climates. I've included stylish picks below at two different price points.

Introduction Tees, tops, and tanks Shirts and sweaters Now... bottoms up! Good jeans
Jeans are one of the most important staples in your wardrobe. They can be dressed up, down, and worn in every season. I recommend owning a dark or indigo wash and a light wash, as well as white and black jeans. The silhouette and rise you go for in these washes is completely dependent on what you feel good in, but here are some suggested guidelines:
Pants
I also recommend owning a comfy pair of joggers for those days that you can't be bothered to put on jeans (me, 6 days a week). Joggers that aren't too slouchy can take you from couch cruising to daytime boozing in style. Finally, you'll need a great fitting pair of jean shorts for sunny days.
Now that you've got a bit of booty coverage, I'll get you layered next time I post. Got questions? Leave a comment or get in contact with me.
